Dogs and Wolves: Ch23Chapter 23: Within the Verdant Forest Lies a Crimson Heart   
 Casting shadows like great clouds looming in the sky, the enormous trees blotted out the harshest rays of the suns, as if purposefully sowing patches of ethereal illumination about the moss-covered ground. The trees themselves seemed to be of the leafy variety, sporting majestic branches that seemed to burst into verdant foliage; their bark varied from deep brown to an almost ashen white. In the crevices these living coats of armor, smaller patches of vegetation seemed to cling on, as if ambitiously claiming a territory of their own upon these towering giants.  The sound of rushing water and the gentle mist stirred up by the river was more than welcome on this wretchedly hot day. The rushing rapids roared, trickled, and swished all at once in a chaotic song of natural power; highlighting the wildness of the fugue were the strident but somehow melodious shrieks of the summer cicadas. Their membranous screams and chirps pierced the air like needles, whilst the damp pebbles of the shoreline crunched and rubbed underneath my shoes: it was a feeling that was oddly refreshing.   Weeping Stone and I have been wandering about the river for about an Dogs and Wolves: Ch22

 After two moons and many hours of work, the protective power of the statue was nearing completion. I must admit, she was one of my best carvings yet: it would seem Toe Moss was impressed as well. The log she emerged from now stood upright with the great deity mounted upon her perch to watch over the lands; it was nearly two heads worth of height above my own and probably close to twice my weight. Yes, I would have to say that this totem was one of my finest in all my years. From her great chitinous plates, to the great Reverse Maw upon the back of her head, she was a fitting warning t Dogs and Wolves: Ch21

Uh... long story short, I got back from a 8 hour car ride from Palm Springs.

Why Palm Springs?
My cousin's marriage.
I should be happy for him and his new wife but I have to say: everything was terrible. Organization, food, entertainment, etc. It was all so freakishly disorganized and awkward; I had to walk down the isle and take a seat on one of the rows... only that instead of a church with an altar and pews, it was a circle...

All in all, I didn't think it was worth the pain to drive south, miss school, and get only like 16 hours of sleep.

My uncle also passed away (my dad's older brother, last Saturday), so my dad had to skip the wedding and drive back to Ontario to fly out to O'ahu for the ceremony. So, yeah: RIP.

And I'm bleeding again >_>

So now, I have to cram all my work for this week and start worry about my final papers...

I'll be holding off on sifting through my DA inbox for now. Need to rest before my cerebral cortex implodes.
